What is a whole house tannin filter?
A point of entry (POE) tannin filter, also known as a whole house tannin filter is installed at the main-line of your plumbing where water enters your house or business. This type of filter removes tannin in your kitchen and at other taps throughout your house should you want it; such as your bathroom, laundry, all sinks or utility room. Whole House Tannin Filter Systems are the very best solution for filtering well water you use throughout your home.

How do I know if my well water needs a tannin filter?
Is your well water yellow - do you live in Florida - are you experiencing yellow staining on your clothes and fixtures? -  The Tannin Eater filters high tannins at every tap, so they may be suitable for any household that needs high quality water for any reason.

There are many reasons why some homeowners choose a whole house tannin filter system over other technologies. For example, a whole house reverse osmosis system will also remove tannins but costs between $5,000-$10,000! A whole house reverse osmosis also requires a separate water softener whereas the Tannin Eater removes both tannins and hard water without requiring additional equipment.

Basically, if you need water to be of a higher quality than your private well water supply, then a tannin filter system might work for you.  As there are many different well water filters to choose from, it is worth having your water analyzed.  Before you purchase any filter for your well we recommend that you obtain a water quality test report for your well water supply, which will help identify any issues that are essential to deal with and those you may wish to improve. If you have a water report please email us at Support@RainDanceH2OStore.com Attn: Whole House Tannin Filter - Or contact us about our FREE well water testing.

What size tannin filter do I need?
It’s really important to take the size of your household into account when choosing a whole house water filtration system. The higher the number of occupants, the more water will be used.

Each tannin filter listed below have a maximum flow rate for optimum water filtration. The flow rate is measured in gallons/minute. The flow rate is the measure of the amount of water that can run through your house faucets—dishwashers, washing machine, showers, hot water heaters, and toilet. When planning to buy your well water filter, make sure to know the demand of your appliances and water dispensers in your home. For example, a typical showerhead has a flow rate of 2.5-5 gallons per minute while dishwashers and toilets have flow rates of 5 gpm and 3 gpm respectively. Depending on the size of your family, the number of water dispensers, and the flow rate of each dispenser, a RainDance professional can help you calculate the right flow rate that your filter should have.
