The RDWS-Feed Pump system consists of a 45 gallon solution tank and a small injection pump that is mounted above the solution tank with a pickup tube submerged into the mineral solution. The pump is plugged into a dedicated outlet wired to the switch side of the well pump switch so that it is only activated when the well pump is activated. When there is a demand for water in the household and the pressure in the pneumatic storage tank drops, the well pump and the injection pump are activated.
The injection pump feeds the proper amount of solution into the flowing stream of water with the use of a tee injector fitting that must be installed before the pneumatic storage tank. Solution mixes include chlorine/water or hydrogen peroxide/water mix to oxidize iron and sulfur bacteria as well as other well water contaminants. You can then regulate the amount of solution that is fed with the use of a feed control valve located on the pump. Take several readings until you reach your target level. The required maintenance on the system includes adding the solution mixture to the solution tank in proper measure occasionally, depending on water chemistry and usage.
