The RDWS-NS Series: Sand & Sediment Filters. These low-maintenance (no routine cartridges to replace) RainDance sediment filters are completely chemical and salt free. In other words they do not require salt pellets or chemicals for backwashing. Designed for whole house, seasonal cabin, vacation homes, off-the grid uses, growers, and irrigation applications. Our RDWS-NS Series provides filtration down to 3-5 microns. RainDance Water Systems RDWS Sediment Filters can be used on any domestic or industrial application where optimum sediment and turbidity removal is required.

As always, our Preloaded USB Flash Drive contains all the installation instructions, diagrams, and manuals you or your installer need for easy installation and maintenance. Additional plumbing materials such as pipe and fittings are not included. These materials are readily available at any hardware or home improvement retail store.

How does the Non-Electric Sediment Filter work?
Energy-saving water filtration has never been easier! Water flows into the valve at the top, down through the media and then up through the ‘riser’ tube in the middle of the vessel. As the water travels through the media the sediment and suspended solids are removed leaving crystal clear water. The beauty of the RDWS-NS-10NE is that it uses no chemicals, there is no salt to add, and in most cases the backwash water can be reused for landscape or other watering.
The manual non-electric control valve is simple to operate; once the system needs backwashing just move lever to the backwash position for about 10-15 minutes, then move to the lever to the rinse position for about 10 minutes, then back to the service position. We recommend backwashing the filter at-least every 2-3 days - some applications may require a daily backwash.

- The Non-Electric Sediment System is considered a low-maintenance point of entry filtration system. There are no routine filters to replace and requires no chemicals. The Non-Electric Sediment System will filter and clarify your water by filtering sediment, turbidty and suspended solids in the water. The Non-Electric Sediment System is controlled by a manual backwashing control valve which simply requires the user to move the lever to the backwash position, the rinse position, and back to the service position. The filtration media will need to be exchanged approximately every 3 to 5 years*. This is easily accomplished with the use of a wet & dry vacuum which you use to vacuum out the old filtration media from the top of the filter. You then replace it with a new bed of filtration media which will last approximately another 3 to 5 years*. This is the only media maintenance that the system will require. *Some applications may require more frequent intervals dependent on water chemistry and usage.
