WHY YOU NEED CONTINUOUS WELL WATER SEDIMENT REMOVAL
What Is Continuous Sediment Filtration?
The Twin RainDance RDWS-NS features two tanks for treating well water sediment. Sediment and debris are filtered in one tank while the other tank is in a standby mode. When the capacity of the first tank is reached, the system automatically switches tanks. The first tank is then automatically backwashed, cleaning itself and remains in standby until the second tank reaches its capacity point. By using two alternating tanks there is always one tank filtering water at any time of day.
When a standard single-tank water filter is backwshing, any water used during this time will be unfiltered and allows sediment to get into your plumbing. A twin-tank system is a great option if you have high water usage or use water at unpredictable times and need filtered water at any time of the day or night.
What Is Sediment In Well Water?
Sediment can consist of sand, rocks, and minerals, or may consist of organic particles of plants and microbes. Sediments may appear in well water as color or cloudiness which may or may not settle when sitting.
What Is A Micron Size?
Micron size ratings refer to the size of the holes or pores in the filter surface and thus the size of particle that a filter can remove from the water passing through it.
The smaller the number, the finer the filtration; therefore, filters with lower micron ratings will remove more impurities than those with higher
What Is Size Micron Does The RainDance NS Sediment Filter Remove?
The RainDance RDWS-NS Sediment Filters can remove sediment down to 3-5 microns. To put this size into context, a human hair is between 40 to 90 microns in diameter, bacteria range from 0.5 to 50 microns and particles above 50 microns can be seen by the naked eye

What is a whole house or irrigation sediment filter?
A point of entry (POE) sediment filter, also known as a whole house sediment filter is installed at the main-line of your plumbing where water enters your house, business or pressurized irrigation water main. This type of filter removes sediment to provide clear sediment-free water in your kitchen and at other taps throughout your house should you want it; such as your bathroom, dishwasher, washing machine or utility room. These systems also provide sediment free water to your irrigation water system and sprinkler systems. Automatic backwashing sediment filters are the very best solution for well water sediment removal.

How do I know if my well water needs a sediment filter?
Do you notice sediment in your toilets, faucets or baths? Is your water cloudy? Is sediment clogging your irrigation and sprinkler systems? The RainDance NS removes both sediment and turbidity at every tap, so they may be suitable for any water well application that needs high quality water for any reason.
There are many reasons why some homeowners and businesses choose a RainDance NS System over other technologies. For example, most companies sell cartridges that plug up and require you to constantly replace them. A separate iron filter may also be required with most sediment filters - The RainDance NS will also remove iron up to 1ppm without requiring additional equipment.
Basically, if you need water to be of a higher quality than your private well water supply, then a sediment filter might work for you. As there are many different well water filters to choose from, it is worth having your water analyzed. Before you purchase any sediment filter for your well we recommend that you obtain a water quality test report for your well water supply, which will help identify any issues that are essential to deal with and those you may wish to improve. If you have a water report please email us at Support@RainDanceH2OStore.com Attn: Sediment Filter - Or contact us about our FREE well water testing.

What size sediment filter do I need?
It’s really important to take the size of your household into account when choosing a whole house sediment filter system. The higher the number of occupants, the more water will be used.
Each RainDance NS listed below has a maximum flow rate for optimum sediment removal and filtration. The flow rate is measured in gallons/minute. The flow rate is the measure of the amount of water that can run through your house faucets—dishwashers, washing machine, showers, hot water heaters, and toilet. When planning to buy your well water sediment filter, make sure to know the demand of your appliances and water dispensers in your home. For example, a typical showerhead has a flow rate of 2.5-5 gallons per minute while dishwashers and toilets have flow rates of 5 gpm and 3 gpm respectively. Depending on the size of your family, the number of water dispensers, and the flow rate of each dispenser, a RainDance professional can help you calculate the right flow rate that your filter should have. If you are using a sediment filter for irrigation water or commercial business we will need to know your estimated flow rate, plumbing size and how many gallons of water you plan to use per day. We offer high flow sediment filters from 8gpm up to 100gpm+ and can accommodate plumbing sizes from 3/4" to 3"
