How The RainDance Whole House RO Package Works
Pressurized water from your city treated or well water source first enters the attached dual prefilter cartridge system. This pre-filtered water then enters the RO water purification system. The purified RO water will flow through the pH neutralizer / remineralizer, then begins filling the near-by storage tank. The RO water will continue to fill the storage tank until the included tank float switch closes and shuts the entire system off. When there is a demand for water the repressurization delivery pump is activated and draws RO water from the storage tank to your taps. If enough water is used to the point where the float switch is reopened, the RO system is automatically reactivated and begins to replace the RO water in the tank that has been depleted.
1. Pretreatment System: To extend the life of the membrane a water softener, iron filter, or other prefilter may be needed to provide protection to RO membranes.
2. Dual Prefilter Assembly: Integrated Sediment, Rust, and Chlorine/Organic Chemical Prefiltration
3. RO System: High Capacity Wall Mount Reverse Osmosis System available in 400, 800, 1,200, and 1,500gpd capacities – Provides more effective contaminant removal on all types of water sources.
4. Post Remineralizer Filter: Raises the pH in the product water to prevent acidic corrosive water by adding a small amount of calcium minerals.
5. Atmospheric Product Storage Tank: Tank provides on-demand purified water to the building. Includes float switch and float to shut RO system off when tank is full.
6. Delivery Pump: Draws water from storage tank and delivers high flow purified water to all taps.
7. Optional UV System: A post UV system can be added here to disinfect water before entering the building.

(a detailed installation instruction packet is included with your system)
1. Reverse Osmosis System Installation
- Location: Install the RO unit indoors, on a wall or shelf. Use the dual prefilter assembly, which can be mounted directly on the RO unit (if wall-mounted) or positioned nearby (if shelf-mounted).
- Water Supply Preparation: Turn off the main water supply and open faucets to drain existing water from the pipes. Ensure all plumbing complies with local codes.
- Tubing Connections:
- Connect the white feed water tubing from the main water line or pretreatment system to the INLET connector on the prefilter assembly.
- Attach the white tubing from the OUTLET of the prefilter assembly to the FEED connector on the RO unit.
- Connect the blue product water tubing from the PRODUCT connector on the RO unit to the INLET of the Post Remineralizer Filter.
- Link the yellow drain water tubing from the DRAIN connector on the RO unit to an approved drain.
- Bypass Recommendation: Install a 3-Valve Bypass to maintain water flow when servicing the RO unit.
- Storage Tank & Float Switch: Place the RO Product Water Storage Tank near the RO unit, then connect the Float Switch wire cord to the leads on the storage tank’s Float Switch.
- Activate System: Turn on the feed water supply and plug the RO unit into the appropriate power outlet.
2. Post Remineralizer Filter Installation
- Unpacking: Remove the filter from its housing, take off the plastic wrapper, and check the o-ring.
- Mounting: Mount the filter on a wall using the provided bracket and screws.
- Tubing Connections:
- Locate Inlet and Outlet ports on the housing cap.
- Use the quick-connect fittings with Teflon tape to attach the Inlet to the RO product water tubing and the Outlet to the storage tank’s Inlet.
- Reassembly: Place the filter back in the housing, set the o-ring, and reattach the housing to the mounted cap.
- Shut-off Valves: Install shut-off valves before and after the filter for easy filter replacement.
- Leak Check: When the RO system is activated, inspect for leaks and turn off the system if needed for adjustments.
3. Storage Tank Delivery Pump Installation
- Placement: Set the pump near the RO storage tank on a stable surface.
- Pipe Connections:
- Connect a pipe from the Inlet port on the pump to the Outlet port on the storage tank.
- Link the Outlet port on the pump to the home’s main plumbing line.
- Power & Activation: Plug the pump into an electrical outlet. Prime the pump before starting it.
Optional Equipment Installation
1. RainDancePRO Pretreatment System Installation
2. Post UV Disinfection System Installation
- Setup: Place the pre-assembled system near a drain and an electrical outlet on a firm, level base.
- Control Valve Installation:
- Ensure the distributor tube is centered in the tank.
- Lubricate the o-ring, attach the control valve, and secure with a ¼ to ½ turn.
- Install the bypass and connectors to the valve.
- Plumbing Connections: With the feed water off, connect the Inlet/Outlet to the plumbing. Route the Drain line to an appropriate source.
- Pretreat Lockout Switch: Connect the RO pretreat lockout wires to the switch inside the control valve, preventing untreated water from entering the RO system during regeneration.
- Startup: Flush the new plumbing, check for leaks, and fill the brine tank with water and softener pellets. Program and manually regenerate the control valve.
2. Post UV Disinfection System Installation
- Orientation: Install the UV chamber vertically (ideal) with the lamp connector on top, or horizontally with the outlet port upwards. Select a wall space that allows easy access for UV lamp changes.
- Water Connections:
- Connect the delivery pump’s outlet to the UV system’s Inlet.
- Connect the UV Outlet to the main home plumbing line.
- Controller Mounting: Mount the controller near the UV chamber, horizontally on a wall, away from water.
- Activation: Plug into a GFI outlet. Run water through the system to remove air and dust from the UV chamber and inspect for any leaks.
