Installing a High Capacity Whole House RO Package can seem complex, but with these Quick-Guide instructions, you’ll have each component up and running quickly and efficiently. This guide will walk you through the essential steps for setting up the antiscalant system, reverse osmosis system, post remineralizer filter, storage tank delivery pump, and optional equipment like the pretreatment and UV disinfection systems. By following these steps, you’ll ensure your system is optimally configured to provide clean, filtered water throughout your entire home. A detailed installation packet & flash drive will be included with your order.
1. Antiscalant System Installation:
2. Reverse Osmosis System Installation:
3. Post Remineralizer Filter Installation:
4. Storage Tank Delivery Pump Installation:
- Position the antiscalant system near the RO system.
- Connect the pump power cord to the female receptacle on the RO system.
- Install the injector fitting onto a tee on the plumbing line leading into the RO system.
- Cut and connect the tubing from the injector fitting to the antiscalant pump.
- Fill the solution tank with a mix of antiscalant and distilled or RO water.
2. Reverse Osmosis System Installation:
- Install the RO unit indoors in a location protected from weather and freezing.
- Ensure the feed water supply is off, and drain the plumbing before connecting the following:
- FEED Port: Connect to the main plumbing line feeding the home.
- PRODUCT Port: Connect to the inlet on the Post Remineralizer Filter.
- DRAIN Port: Connect to an appropriate drain.
- FLUSH Port: Connect to a tee on the outlet of the Storage Tank Delivery Pump.
- For easier maintenance, install a 3-Valve Bypass to provide water when the RO system is offline.
- Connect the Float Switch wire to the storage tank float switch.
- Place the Product Water Storage Tank near the RO system.
3. Post Remineralizer Filter Installation:
- This system is preloaded with media and a distributor tube for quick setup.
- Place the unit on a level, firm base between the RO system and the storage tank.
- Attach the supplied connectors and install the bypass for easy servicing.
- Inlet Port: Connect to the PRODUCT line from the RO system.
- Outlet Port: Connect to the Product Water Storage Tank.
4. Storage Tank Delivery Pump Installation:
- Position the pump near the RO Product Water Storage Tank on a secure base.
- Inlet Port: Connect to the “outlet” port at the bottom of the storage tank, keeping the line as short and straight as possible.
- Outlet Port: Connect to the main plumbing line feeding the home.
- Plug the power cord into an appropriate electrical outlet.
High Capacity Whole House RO Optional Equipment
1. Pretreatment System Installation:
2. Post UV Disinfection System Installation:
- This unit is also preloaded with media and a distributor tube for quick setup.
- Place it near a convenient drain and electrical outlet on a level base.
- Attach the valve to the tank and turn it snugly.
- Attach the supplied bypass and connectors.
- With the feed water off and plumbing drained, cut a section of the main plumbing and connect it to the inlet of the control valve. Connect the outlet of the control valve to the inlet on the RO system.
- Connect a drain line to the Drain port and secure it to a drain source.
2. Post UV Disinfection System Installation:
- Mount the UV chamber vertically if possible, with the lamp connector on top. If horizontal, ensure the outlet port faces up.
- Install the unit on a wall, leaving enough space to remove the UV lamp as needed.
- Inlet: Connect from the storage tank delivery pump’s outlet.
- Outlet: Connect back to the main plumbing line to the home.
- Mount the controller horizontally on the wall, away from any water sources.
- Install the UV lamp into the chamber.
- Once all connections are complete, turn on the water slowly, check for leaks, and plug the system into a GFI outlet. Run water for a few minutes to clear air or dust from the chamber.
Start-Up Instructions
- Place the RO system, Post Remineralizer Filter, and Pretreatment System into bypass mode using the respective shut-off valves.
- Slowly turn on the feed water supply to flush the new plumbing, checking for leaks.
- Open the Inlet bypass on the Pretreatment System to fill the filter tank. Plug in the control valve and run a manual backwash by pressing the first button on the control valve. After backwashing, open the Outlet bypass.
- Open the shut-off valves on the RO system to allow water in. Plug in the RO system and power it on, which will activate the Antiscalant system.
- Open the bypass knobs on the Post Remineralizer Filter.
- Water should now flow through the equipment, filling the storage tank. Drain the first full tank.
1. Pretreatment System: To extend the life of the membrane an iron filter or other prefilter may be needed to provide protection to RO membranes.
2. Antiscalant System: Salt-free hard water, silica, and other scaling mineral pretreatment system.
3. RO System: High Capacity Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis System available in 2,000-12,000 gallon capacities – Provides effective contaminant removal on all types of water sources.
4. Post Remineralizer Filter: Raises the pH in the product water to prevent acidic corrosive water by adding a small amount of calcium minerals.
5. Atmospheric Product Storage Tank: Tank provides on-demand purified water to the home. Includes float switch and float to shut RO system off when tank is full.
6. Delivery Pump: Draws water from storage tank and delivers high flow purified water to all taps.
7. Optional UV System: An optional UV system can be added here to disinfect water before entering the home.
