There are two flush time settings on our light commercial and whole house TV reverse osmosis systems, one for flush at system startup and the second for flush at tank full shut down. The most important is the flush at shut down, which replaces very high TDS concentrate that resides inside the membrane when the system stops running with clean product water. The startup flush is less significant since the shut down flush leaves clean product water in the membrane, but still provides a fresh membrane upon start up, especially if the system is left to sit idle for periods of time.
